Our e-books are distributed through Draft2Digital (formerly Smashwords) to major e-book retailers and institutions as well as through Amazon’s Kindle store. The press’s audiobook editions to date have been produced through ACX and distributed through Audible.

A Short Stay in Hell Becomes a Bestseller and a Modern Classic

Steven L. Peck’s haunting novella of existential horror, A Short Stay in Hell, spent three weeks on the Independent Press Top 40 Bestsellers list in April 2026!

Nick Skidmore with Penguin UK’s Vintage Classics acquired UK rights to Steven L. Peck’s A Short Stay in Hell from Dropcap Rights Agency in April 2026. The UK edition releases May 21st, 2026. Look for it wherever books are sold in the UK!

To celebrate the launch of the Penguin Vintage Classics edition in the UK, Strange Violin Editions will be hosting a Goodreads giveaway of the US edition of A Short Stay in Hell from May 14 to June 12th.

Forthcoming and New

Strange Violin Editions will publish author Danielle Stonehirsch’s comic novel, NO ONE IS COMING FOR YOU IN THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE, in Summer 2027.

Therese Doucet’s 2020 historical novel with magical realist elements, The Prisoner of the Castle of Enlightenment, which was originally published by the now-defunct small press D.X. Varos, has been republished by Strange Violin Editions as an e-book.
